Bikes are practically the most basic forms of vehicles that every man, woman and child can own. It doesn't involve any motors, hydraulic presses or any of those mechanical whatchamacallits that engage just about anything that involves internal combustion or advanced electronics. The bicycle has definitely earned its place among the many tools and machines used in today's world. In fact, several developed countries like the United States, Canada and France, still find much importance in such a basic mode of transportation. The French even celebrate the importance of the bicycle annually by holding the much-loved Tour de France. If you own a bicycle, don't be ashamed of using it or don't settle for a car just because you have it. Use a bike every once in a while, stretch those legs for a couple of minutes every single day and you're going to be glad you did. So, bikes and lamps, what do you get when you combine the two? 1. You become more visible at night or during the wee hours of the morning. If you've ever experienced being a paper boy plying your daily route delivering papers and such, you'll find it to be quite a nuisance if cars don't seem to notice you passing by. It's great that you have reflectors and all, but that helps only when light is reflected on its surface. If it doesn't, it practically wouldn't help you out so much in situations that might lead to accidents. If you installed a lamp on your bike, it can at least help you out with incoming traffic or cars that may have failed to notice you from a distance. At least by having a light on your bike, you would become more visible to cars and other pedestrians. 2. If it get's too dark to head on out with your bike, you've got one light to show you the way. You can't be clutching a flashlight on one hand and holding the handle bars of your bike on the other as that would be hazardous. When biking, you should always keep both hands on your handle bars as much as possible. You never know when you need to change your direction or quickly maneuver your way around to avoid potholes and other potentially dangerous obstacles you might encounter on the road. Especially when it's dark, it's quite difficult to navigate your way through an unfamiliar road or street. Why not do yourself a favor and put on a lamp or a light on your bike that can at least illuminate the path that you're going through. 3. You never know when it's going to come in handy. You don't have to use a light every single time for you to realize the importance of it. It's kind of like a flashlight; it's incredibly important and useful, but the need for it doesn't necessarily mean that you need to turn it on every single day. You don't always bike at night, but if you do, you sure would be glad to have that light on your bike now, would you? |
